Any grains or verm or just straight compost? Compost sgould do well as iys broken down organic matter and thats what they grow on in nature

Of course it did. Cubes are sapophores. They thrive on any organic substrate. Compost is wonderful

They won't fruit very well in a jar. You'll get a ton of sidepins that will make it too hard to harvest. My suggestion would be to get creative by finding something to use instead of a tub, and use the jars as spawn. An old ice cream tub or something could work. Or a 2l pop bottle cut in half. Here's a picture of a grain jar that looked suspect, so I didn't use it as spawn. Been sitting out on my counter since January and just recently decided it was time to pin.

Will garden compost work as substrate? I currently have a jar filled with rice colognated with killer genetics and need to add some substrate but i currently cant pasturize cow shit

Just in case there’s some form of bacteria on the wall of the cup it’s good to xfr before but that’s my own idea the real reason we xfr before it touches the side is because when it touches the sides it has ran out of food so when mycelium runs out of food it’s next phase is fruiting. So say the myc... View More

We xfr before it touches the sides to keep its momentum going. Myc shoukdnt run out of food until it’s in a monotub. Keep it eating all the way up til it’s time to produce mushrooms
