Any grains or verm or just straight compost? Compost sgould do well as iys broken down organic matter and thats what they grow on in nature

They won't fruit very well in a jar. You'll get a ton of sidepins that will make it too hard to harvest.
My suggestion would be to get creative by finding something to use instead of a tub, and use the jars as spawn.
An old ice cream tub or something could work. Or a 2l pop bottle cut in half.

Here's a picture of a grain jar that looked suspect, so I didn't use it as spawn. Been sitting out on my counter since January and just recently decided it was time to pin.

We xfr before it touches the sides to keep its momentum going. Myc shoukdnt run out of food until it’s in a monotub. Keep it eating all the way up til it’s time to produce mushrooms
