This is a good question so one winter I experimented with this idea. I notice with grains that are bigger like corn mixing is best results. Smaller like rice or millet thin layers can be fast but mixing also gives faster coverage but you do get clumps of grain if not mixing very good. I also do pseu... View More
I seem to notice a couple days difference in colonization wheb I'm mixing vs layering. Started out layering, but eventually moved to mixing because it made tub prep more fun for me. Then I noticed they were moving just a little faster than when I was layering. I just keep a little extra sub out to p... View More

Depending on how it’s growing, sometimes I won’t at all but that is a fairly vigorous culture. And occasionally bust open a nasty jar lol

I have some leftover cooked popcorn, do you think I can freeze it for next spawn?

Joazz let me clarify something. All you need to do is to buy this product and make your own DMT, noone is going to sell you ready made one also here sourcing is against the rules, you are on this website to educate yourself and learn how to do it by yourself.

I really don't get it. Plate on first pic is the plate from which transfer was made, it should be proper rhizomrphic on the next plate, right? But it's not it went opposite way. Any thoughts?

Yeah this would just be because of the difference in nutrients on each plate. The mycelium still has that potential it just has to respond differently to differently levels of nutrients. I wouldn't worry just play around with your agar recipe.
