I suppose you could but moisture in the kernel would expand and probably cause the outer shell to open which raises the risk of contams. But ive never done it or heard of it. If it works it works.

I really don't get it. Plate on first pic is the plate from which transfer was made, it should be proper rhizomrphic on the next plate, right? But it's not it went opposite way. Any thoughts?

Yeah this would just be because of the difference in nutrients on each plate. The mycelium still has that potential it just has to respond differently to differently levels of nutrients. I wouldn't worry just play around with your agar recipe.
How long takes for mycelium to start to grow on water agar?

I am very interested in trying water agar too. I am excited that i can finally unpause my mycological journey.
