definitely what GaiaGazing said. That is how I do my lids to. It isn't very difficult and you can actually use a very sharp tool. No drill needed. It is called a daper or a punch tool where you can puncture a hole and then you twist into it which make a good size that you would typical... View More

Just a mutant. I would just go by when the other larger mushrooms open up. Spores have completely random genetics in them so occasionally you can get mutants from that or from the growing conditions. Mutants can also occur if the grow comes in contact with isopropyl alcohol.
