View MoreThat's just it, Awakenbyfire, I've used meth for about exactly 30 years this month and in those 30 years the only amount of clean time I had with any significance was either while I was locked up or in the hospital. There was a time in there in 2008 or there bouts when I had 15 months clean on my own decision to try n quit. I started attending N/A meetings in 2003 and really, truly wanted to be of the shit, I guess I've always wanted to be off the shit but I've never been able to get over the hump of the cravings and the other turbulence that goes along with it. I've done inpatient treatment many many times and way I say many I can honestly tell you that it's been more than 10 times. Well I'm 54 years old now and about 10 years ago I conceded to the fact that I cant quit so why fight it... ya know? I explained to my sponsor that "the pain of staying clean was worse than the pain of using.. I know that's hard for alot of people to wrap their head around but try using EVERYDAY FOR 20 + YEARS then take it away from a person, then let me know. For one thing I had to deal with all these things that have been fucking me since I was a child.........CLEAN, which is devastating to me even while in a fog. Life in general is different and uncomfortable without meth in it. I mean it sucks and I hate the fuck out of the drug but it's been part of my body for so long it's like being able to walk and talk for 30 years then all of a sudden you can't anymore, not to that extreme but life does a 180 on ya and it's not pleasant, no matter how unpleasant the alternative is. I've ventured about every avenue to try n quit using meth and all have failed...I've failed em all. DMT in my mind is my last vestige of hope that I may EVER quit, my body aches and so does my soul, I'm very thankful that my mind is still sharp! I gotta get off meth.... like SOON or it's gonna get me, I can't imagine sitting here trying about this shit 20 years from now on meth at the age of 75 years old. I've done some pretty off the wall shit over the last 30 years, some crazy, scary shit so I dont know why I'm so scared of DMT. I love your suggestion of being off meth for a while before doing psychedelics but that time has never, nor will ever be for me. I need a drug to kick a drug, kinda ironic don't ya think? I'm willing to do whatever the fuck it takes to get off meth, if DMT won't let me see another way to quit I see only one other way to quit. For my wife and my dog's sake I hope DMT works cuz I'm at that ledge, just not quite falling off of it.....YET.
