Yes you can have a breakthrough in 1 hit, it happened to me a few weeks ago with my son who is experienced.

Well damn maybe i just need to do a bowl then. Id like to try that out. Especially if i dont have to worry about burning it as much. Do you typically need 3 hits to breakthrough?
