I would test it on Water Agar, you can tell if they are viable that way through clear microscopic activity!

Absolutely possible for them to be viable give them a shot. Do multiple plates to increase your success rate . One drop per plate is plenty.

That will be very hard to find fresh. Your best bet is to grow some. It's not that hard and seeds are cheap. Then you get a super rewarding experience and the mapacho will be that much better for chewing since waiting always makes a cool thing even cooler
