Autoclave is something you want to sterilize grains and agar. for substrate, you can just do bucket tek or use a large pot, fill with water, put the sub into a plastic bag with a meat thermometer in the middle of the sub and then submerge the bag in the hot water, wait until core temp. hits 79 degre... View More

Thanks dude. I’m at the information overload stage. I’m confused that once you do the sterile work, you can then put them to bulk and not have to work to the same standard. Ie mixing grain and sub with barehands etc.

Let me put it that way, the cleaner you can work, the better your results will be. the reason to not sterilize your sub supposedly is, so that the good bacteria stay alive, but i know of some people who sterilizer their sub, so.. i am still confused about this, just found out what worked pretty reli... View More

I'm not sure what autoclave is but if have limited founds PC which can reach 15 psi is all you need + 20 l bucket and few boxes, regarding to substrate google for damion 50/50 tek.

Is boiled tap water ok for a water source in liquid culture or is distilled/de-ionised essential?
Tap water is disgusting so maybe boiled bottled water at a minimum?

since you sterilize it, you can use tap, but i am sure distilled water has a better effect on the lc. but tap is just fine

I'm sure it depends on your tap water quality. Here in germany tap water is really good controlled but if you live in a less developed country maybe stick to destilled water.
