Perhaps the mushrooms make symbiosis with us. They share wisdom with us and we help them survive in our society. Am sure they know they have a seat on our future spaceships!!

I’ve had this theory for a while, speaking from my own experience, it’s almost as if they invade your mind to an extent lol. Simultaneously through fascination and through a desire to propagate them which in itself is something all species seek to achieve. It’s like a simbiosis of sorts.
