Only thing I do different is to include a small packet of a high quality, food grade desiccant in before sealing ..... a half gram or gram size should be sufficient for smaller vacuum bags. If Im feeling really anal about it and I know its for long term storage ..... Ill also include a small food grade oxygen obsorber packet in as well. I like to use the color changing food grade desiccant packs. This way I can tell at a glance if the humidity levels inside have been compromised .... But they are more expensive, not required and therefore more of a luxury/convenience/preference type of thing. However, how one stores those vacuum packed satchels of future psychedelic voyages is vital for preserving their magic. Cool and dark is key and absolutely vital..... A constant cool temp of less than 65°F (around 45-55°F being the ideal) provides the best chance for psychedelic preservational purposes. Putting ones vacuum sealed bags inside a plastic 5 gal bucket with a sealable type lid (home depot/lowes types is sufficient) and storing on the concrete floor slab in the basement is what Ive found to be the best course of action. Most basements are at least 4' below ground level, and therefore maintain a consistently cool and stable temp year round. Using this method, Ive easily achieved 5 yrs or more long term storage capabilities with minimally detectable (if any) potency decrease. I usually dont recommend freezing for a number of reasons.... It takes up valuable freezer space and would increase ones risks of creating condensation or "sweating" inside those bags from drastic temperature changes when putting them inside or moving them outside of the freezer. Any perceived rewards from freezing simply dont overcome the risks IMO ..... But Im sure others may feel differently about this. A really good source of info concerning various methods of high grade food storage options and the varied techniques for best long term food storage strategies can be found amoungst the plethora of "prepper" type websites online ....... Some of these folks are incredibly creative, knowledgeable and willing to share techniques...... Well, until "the big one" goes down anyway..... then your likely on your own! Lol Oh! ....Dont skimp by purchasing cheap vacuum bags either BTW! ..... Some of the cheaper ones are incredibly thin and easily ruptured! Ive learned this the hard way, so learn from my stupidity and not the bonehead way I tend to learn all of my lessons!
