I have 2 pressure cookers. Can't find weight for big one, and small one never locks (steam pours out of area where lock should pop up and never does. Making LC's for first time in over 12 years, and wondering if another way to sterilize. I have metal lids so can not use microwave.

Clicked on wrong group link. Have found them. In new house and not used to electric stove. Was not turning up high enough to get pressure to seal. Does colonizing LC's and colonizing grain jars get light. Does it matter? Found one article saying for LC's it does not matter.

You have to take spores from a living mushroom, do you think its possible for a living mushroom not to have microbes on it? The vendor can take precautions to minimize contaminates when making the syringe but ultimately it is you who needs to get to a clean culture by working it on agar
