I was looking at it also wondering if it was a conversion based off the size of the can. After seeing the rounds its not. I have seen some extremely thin cans before. You might ne right. That looks like a 6.5 inch barrel so i doubt eben with the optic its to accurate at distance.

That is atleast an 8" barrel. Could easily be a 300AAC. If that's the case he can get 95% or so of that rounds potential from that barrel. Considering he bothered to run the can i figure it is 300AAC because subs make sense for that round. Subs for a 5.56 don't make nearly as much sense.

What makes the least sense to me in this photo is the carabiner running through the QD hole for the sling in the buttstock... why build a rifle like this and not run an MS1 style single to double QD sling for quick transition to free up both hands
