I think spiritual teachers are in business and do what any sensible business person does, give their clients what they want, which is usually not what they need, but wtf do I know

Yeah. You mostly just need a fellow meditater to converse with to bounce ideas off each other. I dont plan to spend money on a guide but they are nice to have at times when you feel stuck or unsure how to continue moving forward with it.
