Whats up people! I am trying to learn about different Teks. I am unsure which one to use. Can anyone help?

There are multiple teks with lot of helpfull information and if you have questions people will help you out. The goal of any tek is to get DMT out of the bark right. This is what it comes down to: In the bark as you bought it DMT is present as a salt, which is water soluble. You will get it out by playing with the water solubility, simple as that. When you go for an acid-base tek (a/b) you will use the water solubility of the DMT salt to get it out of the bark into the acidic water. Next you collect the acidic water and continue with that DMT holding water and discard the bark. With a base you remove the salt group from the DMT and make the freebase which is not water soluble. The freebase will dissolve in a solvent like naptha or heptane which are both not mixable with water. By adding solvent onto water you will make 2 layers, 1 water layer and 1 solvent layer where the spice will mostly be situated. Next you will remove the solvent layer and place it in a freezer and the DMT will crystalize due to the fact that cold solvent cannot hold as much DMT as hot solvent. Dry and you are ready to go. I found that trouble with crystalization is often caused by the solvent, so make sure you buy one that works. Depending on where you are situated in the world people can inform you on proper brands. There are also STB teks, which stands for straight to base. In this tek you skip the first acid step and add base straight to a suspension of MHRB and water. The DMT will lose its salt group but the bark will also interact with the base and will release fats and other plant material which now also don't dissolve in water anymore. Next you get the spice out with solvent again, same as before, but you will also dissolve the fats and other components that you made water insoluble with the base. This means your DMT will contain impurities. Some like this as it brings a different experience, this is called jungle spice (and many other names.) I also see many combinations where first acid is added and than base to the same pot with bark. Realize that this will have the same concequence as STB, in that other plant material will acompany your DMT. You may also encounter table salt in a tek. This is done to make the water layer even less attractive for the DMT freebase to be in. With STB it may also assist with breaking down any emulsions you may form when shaking and get higher yields. With A/B teks emulsion formation is much less prone to happen, as you have no fats in the water layer, which are mainly responsible for the formation of the emulsion. I've done both STB and A/B teks and I like the A/B the most as it gives me the purest DMT and highest yield. One last word of advice, be mindfull, you are working with chemicals that have the ability to harm you. Put on some glasses to protect your eyes and keep some vinegar close by to neutralize basic spills. Good luck

I'd start with an easy stb, lazy man's tek nice and simple to give you the basics, then on next extraction try one of the others, till you find one that pleases you, personally I like lazy and because it's simple and gives good yield so why change
