Going on a “trip” this weekend with the husband, any suggestions on interesting hotels/places to stay in N. California to roll in?

My wife and I camped in a little campground just north of Arcata. Something Lagoon. Jumbo Lagoon maybe? Anyway the farthest campsite in was on the beach of the lagoon. We ate a hit of L and walked onto the sandbar and watched the sunset over the ocean. It's beautiful there.
