Adam O’callaghan I'm curious about the action of the warm wet tea towel? Seem like it would only increase humidity and have the opposite to the desired effect. Very interesting !
Maybe the warm wet towel heat it up from the bottom so it makes evap it faster?
I dont mind if it make any difference bc its still a lot time and i dont think its a good idea to make that time shorter if u aim to evap all residual solvent
99% heptane evaporates pretty damn quick just exposing it to air!
Perhaps letting a small fan blow very lightly upon your yield would produce a much faster method to evaporate the solvent as quickly as possible.

Heptane evaporates so well, that I have a factory sealed and unopened, gallon jug that has lost maybe 5-10% of its volume to slow evaporation in just over a years time!
