I use a ceramic donut on my rig. You might have better luck with the ceramic when you're able to swap.

Your draw and airflow matter. Find where you need to adjust the airflow to be to do one long inhale for at least 10 seconds with a little room after. It sounds like you are burning which you don't want. There will be no doubt when you get it down.It has very little taste and isn't harsh.
