jefph i would be willing to bet youd get approximately the same rate of contamination without using the filter/fan at all. This is best case scenario. Worst case it will blow contams into the agar and actually give you a higher contam rate

Had this same concept 6 months ago. Fucked up alot of good grain thinking that the 3M Filtrete filter was capable of performing as advertised. Thank god this isn't the air filter of choice in the hospital operating rooms... life would 'tam out across the planet
