I'm reading Stamets' Mycelium Running. He mentions technique for mycoforestry to include spores in chain saw oil. When cutting, I'd automatically be introducing fungi into the habitat. Is this simply a matter of adding spores of choice to the oil? Specifically he sites corn, canola and safflower oils to be added to the saw. Would regular bar oil suffice or would it hurt the spores? Would heat from saw kill the spores? I assume he recommends these oils in assuming they'd be picked later.
