Sensory phenomena
Rising, pushing, falling..
It was a Rainy Evening, during the start of the winter season in Vancouver, not too cold, but just enough to wear a few layers of clothing. The sun had set, and the parking lot at the Save on Foods was bustling with activity. People were coming and going, with all sorts of things on their thoughts, from making it home to dinner, to trying to avoid the traffic, even thinking about walking the dog.
A man was outside, very slowly and calmly walking forward, if any of the people had bothered to notice, they would have seen the slowness and exaggerated step of the man, thinking him maybe a little slow himself. For this man, time was present, his concern was directed to his step, when he switched to his right foot, he raised it at a quarter of the speed of what was expected, and then gently pushed it forward and lowered it, when it was firmly on the ground, he moved his mindful attention to his left foot and once again, completed the full movement.
You see, the man's body was at ease, and following next was his mind. The look in the man's eyes was lazy, he was not looking at anything, the entire picture from his field of view was what he was seeing. Nothing caught his interest, there was no need to Look at anything, for he saw it without expending any energy on the action, seeing accomplished all.
After 10mins, the man picked up his pace and gracefully pushed his way thru the moving doors and towards the Fruit and vegetable aisle, meanwhile, people hurried past him, no interest is given, their moment was to accomplish the task they were set on , there was no new experience here in this supermarket, its been done a hundred times, move along.
To the man, this was a new experience, more so then ever, this was like a 2-year-old, brought to the toy store for his first time.
Already the Lights and smells were vibrant to the man, everything had an experience, a pleasure, a story, a memory to add for future joy upon recall.
The first fruit to assault the senses were the banana's, at just about 8 feet away, the smell was overpowering, images of past memories flooded his mind, the time he ate three, and drank a liter of water, and the resulting full, bloated stomach he endured.
Continuing to walk, and zig zag thru the aisle, no one noticed this man, walking at a half of their pace, head stationary, vision forward, and a minor smile with watery warm eyes.
People seem to move out of his way, but yet not in direct relation to him, the scents of the items he passed hung in the air, for only he could see what was really happening, he was not moving air, the others were air movers, they reduced access to the scents by their fast movement, no care was given to them.
The man realized, the beauty of life, the thing he has been taking for granted, every day is just not another day, another day is what you make it, no longer will he wake up, and say just another day,
This man will take and grasp the Opportunites life gives, he will see, and no longer look. He will smell the Fragrance of life, caress it, not push it aside or pass it by.
Right, left, Right left.
