Saw this beautiful baby sunbathing on the road that leads to the prairie natural area, where I was going to hike. It is a heavily traveled pathway, so I had to make sure she made it across safely. Always good to see the serpents out and about. I believe she is a Great Plains Rat Snake.

Cool..I like snakes used to have a ball python. Really misunderstood creatures. Not a fan of Vipers though.

My feeling is snakes with round eyes are from Earth, The Vipers with vertical slit eyes from somewhere else...and Octopus definitely Alien.
