Dear friends, I need guidance. Recently I shared a picture of my first tek cake and I want to post a follow up. Here is a picture. As you can see, the cake has been covered by this colony chunk and it is growing bigger and bigger... just so you know, this morning, only the bottom was covered. It is 11:03PM the time I am posting this picture. If I wake up tomorrow, will my house be covered with mycelia? Is this growth normal?PS: The odor from the box is neutral, therefore it is not contaminated

Yup, it looked exactly like your picture. The mold has now taken 50% of the enclosed box. I should not worry then, as long as I keep the box closed, correct?

Unfortunately they are toast, toss them outside and scrub everything down with bleach water. Try again

Break out the cleaning gear and get that out of the house

Done that and wiped well the container with bleach. Managed to save one cake and it has already sprouted 5 babies.
