I'm coming to the conclusion that I don't need to use gypsum either. On my next grow I'm just going to do Coco Coir and Vermiculite. For the gypsum I may just dispose the bag, it is taking up space in my project room and I have had success just using Coco coir by itself.

I use calcium carbonate for the rare occasion when I use a peat/verm casing like with my tempanensis. Also to correct the ph of the peat moss. Do you think it’s worth it in a coir substrate? I thought coco coirs ph is good from the get go

I’ve never tested ph for mushrooms though honestly. I do everything just by how it feels. For cannabis it’s a different story of course. What would be a good ph level for mycelium?
