I think you guys may be confusing what I am saying here. I am not making commentary on their subjective experiences or even the methods in which they are produced. Even the fact that their most common form is a crystallized alkaloid is only mere coincidence. I am talking about the literal molecular structures. To get what I'm saying, you have to first understand what tryptamines and phenethylamines are. They are amino acid derived molecular structures that either affect the brain or are actually part of it. Opioids and cannabinoids have their own things going on, but outside of that almost any psychoactive drug you can think of is either based on the phenethylamine molecule or the tryptamine molecule. LSD is a tryptamine, mushrooms are a tryptamine, mdma is a phenethylamine, peyote is a phenethylamine. This is how they make some "research chemicals" they take the phenethylamine or tryptamine structure and modify it by adding functional groups. This was basically what Shulgins life's work was. Modify, taste test, document, repeat. Meth is also a phenethylamine. Serotonin is a tryptamine and dopamine is a phenethylamine. If some of that is over anyone's head thats okay, as long as you can understand that the two main molecular structures that a very very large portion of psychoactive drugs are either one or the other. There is a definitive structure that is the actual chemical called phenethylamine and a structure that is the actual chemical tryptamine. Every other drug or neurotransmitter that is in that class of molecule is called a substituted tryptamine or a substituted phenethylamine. Some only have parts of the true structure with other molecules connected to it, but most of the "good ones" contain the entire structure with functional groups attached. DMT is DiMethylTryptamine. If you break down the naming it means 2 (di) methyls (CH3) tryptamine, and that is exactly what its molecular structure is. One complete tryptamine molecule with 2 -CH3 groups attached. That's what a "methyl" group is, a carbon atom bonded to three hydrogens. If you took anything higher than basic chemistry you may remember learning about functional groups, that's what these are. Methamphetamine on the other hand is often called just that, Methamphetamime. The "meth-" suffix is derived from the methyl groups. The amphetamines are a small subset in the phenethylamine family, but they are still substituted phenethylamines. Amphetamine (adderall) the parent molecule of the group is comprised of one methyl group bonded to a full phenethylamine molecule amphetamine could simply be referred to as "methylphenethylamine" and since Methamphetamine is just amphetamine with another methyl group, it can also correctly be called "dimethylphenethylamine". Breaking that naming down just as we did above Di (2) methyl (CH3) phenethylamine. Thats 2 methyl groups attached to an entire phenethylamine molecule. So, I'm not trying to state some sort of opinion, it is an observable scientific fact. They have the exact same structural parameters and occupy the same spot within their structural family.

If youre talkin about the experience, not the crystaline structure of the drugs themselves, if you think the experiences are strikingly similar, you need to sit down and have a heart to heart with either your meth dealer or your deem dealer cause one of em are passing off some funny shit

The two both contain an aromatic amino both pass the blood brain barrier . But dmt is an enthogen meth is not
