Depends what your looking to grow .... oysters will eat nearly everything and thrive upon what you've mentioned already ..... but the compromise is (and there's always compromises) is that when using such substrates, theres some more challenges involved.

That spent barley is best used in compost/worm bin, but definitely put some out in the garden!
Using it successfully in substrates could be challenging for even the experienced.
Could possibly be made into spawn if sterilized and hydrated properly ... I dont know... View More

Yeah, I was afraid that trying to use as spawn would be tough because the brewing process will strip most of the sugar from it.
