Apart from being a MAO-inhibitor...it has a Serotonin reuptake - inhibition activity of its own. Pharmacological POV- it's antidepressant properties. But more importantly..it is present in the Amazonian concoction Ayahuasca. Would be interested to learn about its effect...if you want to share!
