Good morning everyone. I’d like to talk about the synthesis of ammonium chloride with otc chemicals. Those of you interested in the synthesis of MethylAmine, mdma and the likes may find this information useful. Some of you may have watched Nile red on YouTube attempt and fail to make ammonium chloride. So this is me telling you guys how it’s done successfully. 300ml ammonia hydroxide solution is added to 300ml hydrochloric acid solution . The ammonia hydroxide solution should contain 10% ammonia and the hydrochloric acid solution should contain 20% hydrochloric acid. Ammonium chloride gas will start to come in some nice white clouds out of the beaker. You’ll notice an exothermic reaction occurs. We then transfer our beaker to our hot plate on high and bring it to a boil. We will then boil off or evaporate 3/4 of the solution. So there should be 150ml of liquid left in the beaker. This is then removed from the hot plate and slow cooled. After it’s at room temp I transfer the beaker to an ice bath and ammonium chloride crystals form in solution. The solution is then poured into a Büchner funnel under vaccum to separate the ammonium chloride crystals from solution. We let the crystals dry in the funnel and then we have reagent grade ammonium chloride. If your initial solutions used were free of impurity. You can further clean end product with a chilled ammonia hydroxide wash if necessary. I hope this helps those learning to synthesis mdma.
