Expanding ConsciousnessGoing Deeper, deeper, deeperA question we all struggle with, the mortality of one's self, a man had often times thought of this, this man had a healthy fear of death, and an interest, to wonder about one's own passing, and what happens. During a meditation sit, a new experience had happened, this happening, would further convince and shape his views on the subject. Like other meditation experiences, it just happens. After a period of 10 to15minutes, a deeply relaxed state is achieved, the mind finally stills, the body dampens the breathe, a loss of sensation occurs. Peace returns, emotion is finely tuned and sharp.The tunnel focus phenomena starts. From within your consciousness you feel an expanding sensation, your thoughts are happening outside of the body, and they are growing to the size of the room, yet there is no feeling of disconnection, you are still tied to your body. While in this state, the man enjoys the larger than life feeling, however, a panic starts, he feels like he is getting too large, the best way to explain this would be to imagine trying to hug a great Redwood tree, you have your arms all the way around it, your fingertips just barely touch, and the tree grows wider, your arms stretch more to keep the fingers touching, but the tree keeps growing.This can be a representation of your mind growing larger than your body, yet still connected to the life cord to keep you from floating off. After the attempt at panicking, the man relaxes, feels silly, and goes back to enjoying the experience, another minute later, the man's mind starts to panic again, thinking he will be stuck in this state forever, he quietly screams for help, then once again feels foolish for no one can hear or help him . The meditation slowly comes to an end, after recovering, and reflection, the man views the event as an answer to his personal question about his own mortality, the body is merely a vessel, and a piece of spirit/consciousness is separate and held thinly in place by a string and when this is broken, death occurs, the next phase happens.Awakened...
