I use corn syrup as well but potatoes that's why it is the color of the way it is it's always that color when I make them this way

It's not a stupid question bro no worries I use both because I was experimenting and I had forgotten about the jar actually and I had been sitting in the back of the cupboard for about 3 months I think that's the only reason why the picture was posted

The starch from the potatoes from my understanding is supposed to add longevity to your culture and obviously that's what that did but seeing how I didn't filter out the potato water very well I guess the mycelium fed on that and started settling on top of the water and growing out
