Looks like it could be a young terscheckii. If so, give it a number of years and it will likely do what you hope.

Any cactus bought from a large nursery or big box store WILL have been treated with systemic insecticide and fungicides. Commonly used systemics take at least 1 year to metabolise out of the cactus.
