Had an emergency and had to leave town. I had a loaf just about ready to fruit. I tossed it in the refrigerator and left town. Came back about six weeks later. Took it out of the refrigerator for a week and then put it into my fruiting chamber. Lots of fruit, it looks healthy and is putting out a lot of shrooms. I’m glad I didn’t just throw the loaf away. Anyhow, if you haven’t tried it, the refrigerator will put your mycelium on hold. I’m very happy with these results.

I believe I read somewhere that you could store your cakes in the fridge for up to 2-3 months. Can't remember where I read it, but someone had a cake in the fridge for 3 months. Then he s2b and had s successful harvest. seems like it's a good way to also slow down mycelium growth
