If you want to read a book about nature this is the one. Barbara Newhall Follett was a child genius who vanished at twenty-five from her flat on December 7th, 1927 in Brookline, Massachusetts. She had $30 on her at the time ($500 or so during that time). She has never been found. Some say her husband Nickerson Rogers had something to do with her disappearance as she had been threatened with divorce. Barbara had written to her mother about how she thought that Nickerson may have been unfaithful. Nickerson had requested to divorce Barbara after being asked to hang up drapes in their home. A judge thought the notion was ridiculous. She wrote this book at eight years old for her mother but it was ruined in a house fire. So she made it longer and republished it at twelve. It became a best seller. Barbara even came up with her own language called Farksoo. She traveled all over the world and lived independently and was homeschooled.Her mother Helen Follett published a book with Barbara called Magic Portholes and I'm currently reading it.
