Have any of you guys ever experienced LME to loose its nutrients after some time? I have been using one from the same bag for nearly 3 years but the last 2 (250 ketchup cups) batches of agar I made are really weird. I’ve put transfers from different varieties on them and none seem to grow right. Is it possible that it has lost its nutritional value? I’ve made like 30-40 transfers and none shows good growth. So I decided to put some colonized grain kernels on there cause these always seem to show strong growth and they actually did. So I thought well this might be cause the grain provides the mycelium with enough nutrients by itself so I took really rhizomorphic transfers of the grain plates. Again same shitty results. The rhyzomorphs grow up into the air instead of onto the agar. Has anyone experienced something like this before? I just ordered me a fresh bag of LMEI have never had any issues like this before and since the growth is doing perfect from the rye berrys on it I highly suspect the lme powder to be the issue
