Dark , darkening, Darkness If one practices in the technique of meditation, you tend to learn to enjoy the silence, stillness, and darkness of the moment. Maybe at first this darkness awakens a feeling of claustrophobia, fear, or abandonment. The truth be told, it’s the best way to learn of one’s self, your strengths and weaknesses. Even your limits which we tend to set too high can be tested. The experience from failure is rich, it opens the humble path, and with this is the observation of other beings strength’s when judged and compared to ourselves. Sitting in a park during the day, feeling the sun and breeze, assists in arriving to that warm comfortable place we seek. The true test is to arrive while things are not in your favor, since we like to arrange, and stack actions to our benefits, to give the illusion of success upon completion. Really are we just cheating? How can a premeditated event really test our resolve and fortitude? Should you be fortunate enough and catch a wave pressing out worldly from the universe for a random event, hop on the ride, use it to really know yourself. Can you maintain your composure, can you pull the peace and tranquility from within yourself and enjoy the ride in the total darkness, and treat it as if you were sitting on that bench during a mid-summers day. Stepping outside our boundaries is liberating, the reward is a personal growth that others will see and appreciate, in turn , a little taste of enlightenment just may be waiting at the end of the ride.
