The willpower required to not scratch this itchy ass poison ivy may prove too much. Lot's of cold compresses, calamine lotion, cool baking soda baths and aveno oatmeal baths as well as jewelweed poultices are helping. The natural instinct to scratch an itch is a powerful thing. I can't think of many living things that don't try to scratch an itch.

Well the good news is that scratching it won't make it spread like most people think, but it can leave permanent scars.

Cook up some oatmeal, let it cool off a little and slap some on. I used to do this years ago when I worked landscaping. The heat feels good and it draws out the oil.
