Hi, have never tried ID or picking agaricus (not a mushroom eater really..????) but Im really interested in fungi. This was growing under paperbark and sheoak. There's no yellow stain I can see, even after squishing the stem and scratching the cap - but not red either? Heated a piece in a pan and no odd smell ~ no discolouration either, just regular mushroom smell. Friend said it smelt delicious when he walked in the kitchen ~ he had a sniff of the raw and cooked and no chemical smell. Found in Perth.
Does anyone know the species? Would it be safe to eat based on all that?
