This is long, sorry...
I had a previous post/pic about surprise albinos showing up on a Br’s grow. Well, ive done pf/jars from a kit a couple of times, the latest a few years ago. The first ~20yrs afo. So im familiar with the process.
This year i dabbled in a few experiences that took me places i hadnt seen before, a couple very intense. So, a couple months ago, i realized i had a syringe of spores in the fridge, and after watching some youtube vids from a dude making jars with popcorn (thanks myco madness), and decided to give it a go. The jars seemed to take forever to colonize ~4 weeks. I dont think the corn was hydrated enough, but its just a guess. I wasnt quite satisfied with the colonization, but was afraid to leave it sit too long for fear of contam. I layered into shoebox size tubs with a premade poo/verm/coir, and a layer of rice hulls on top. Again, these tubs seemed to take forever as well. I know Im impatient, but after 3 weeks, i was ready to pitch them all. I had already dumped 2 tubs for obvious mold. I had tried to coax the last two tubs into fruiting (i know, i know), and shut off the heat/humidifier/ventilation and put lids on the tubs. 3 days later i figured i could try making LC with the existing mycelium growth, and when i opened one tub, i saw a couple tiny pins starting. There were also side pins visible. I did the LC samples, and started the fruiting chamber back up. The next day, the side pins were pushing out the sides of the tub. I removed the substrate from the tub and put it directly on the upside down tub and hope for the best. That was 2 days ago. The other tub started showing pins as well, so i did the same with it last night.
So this is a pic of the progress as of today. Not great, but pleased that it did actually start fruiting.
Learning as i go. Advice/criticism welcome. I do have 6 other tubs that have come along bery nicely, and are about ready to fruit. I put two of those tubs in the tent as well, and dropped the temp on the other tubs to slow things down a little. The logistics of fruiting 6-8 tubs at the same time was more that i planned for, so im trying to mitigate the chaos. Its lovely! Im excited and can probably prep a bigger tent that i have for fruiting.
Hve a wonderful day!

Doesn’t matter how you got there or how much you got. Enjoy your fruits.
