The Mushroom Man

Last Friday my brother calls me and tells me he has a line on some mushrooms and wanted to know if i was down. It broke my heart to shell out money for them but sadly my own supply is far from ready. we chip in equally for a half oz, we weigh it out and see there was an extra gram. so my wife and my brothers friend both got the eighths they were promised and me and my brother split the extra so we ended up with 4g each. So we grind up our doses and soak them in Lemon juice because i had heard that it helps with the nausea and hits you a little faster. after half an hour we all take our doses and i had my 4g down in about 4 seconds and didnt even notice a taste.

I began to feel the telltale tingle of a psychedelic come up almost immediately. it still took over an hour to peak but the taste was easily bearable and i was feeling a bit intoxicated from the word go so definitely not complaining. if you're wondering wether i broke through, the answer is no. and as for visuals, i found them to be less frequent than LSD but somehow much more profound and organic. instead of the random fractals and constant motion thats easily determined to be false no matter how messed up i get, it all looked real (even though i knew it wasn't). for example,  my blanket, which was balled up on the couch near my pillow, took on the form of a sleeping child (that is to say, it appeared as though an invisible or headless child were curled up in my blanket) and my pillow, which was right near the blanket, had a lions face in it, watching and judging me.

The sounds of the creek and the birds were surreal, soothing, and amplified. i could make out a womans face in the tree at my brothers house. all the ends of the rest of the branches looked like long deceased "beaker"s (the muppet). at the time, i attributed this to being judged by mother nature for being part of the problem rather than the solution.

Other than auditory distortions and enhanced colors thats pretty much the end of my story. In summary my mushroom trip was not very intense but it was certainly pleasant. i am reasonably sure that i've discovered the lion to be my spirit animal (i always thought itd be a wolf but whenever i trip i have thoughts abpout lions. like comparing my hair to a lions mane or feeling like a lion on the prowl and so far the lion is the only animal i have ever seen while tripping) and i am very much looking forward to harvesting my own supply and doing a quarter.
