I have recently began to order African Dream Seeds. They resemble river stones and they are smooth. The seed and root is said to induce vivid and lucid dreams.
Some resemble hearts or skipping stones. I use them as worry stones and make tea with them. I buy mine on Etsy.
They float in water.
The seeds are difficult to open but the best way I've found is to take a rock to the middle of the seed. It will eventually cave in and open. Then I pour the contents as I keep breaking the shell.
I like to paint the shells too.
Last night I drank a small cup of bitter African Dream tea using two seeds.
I woke up early in the morning with not much recollection of my dreams. Eventually I fell back asleep and I had a dream I can now call reoccurring.
The dream:
I once dreamt of a place that was named "The Border." The setting is seemingly the future. I'm walking on an uneven road with a knapsack and I'm walking with a few young people: two women and a man.
They seemed like hippie travelers backpacking like I was in this dream.
The first dream I met these people and a girl named Kelly told me about "The Border." The Border was actually a tree house but people nearly died to get to it as it was difficult to find. It was a long journey. You even had to climb a rope to get into the treehouse.
Along the way in both dreams we trekked winding roads with no sidewalks. When cars came we had to jump into ditches with mud and puddles. We walked past skeletons with moss and mushrooms. Bones scattered along very old roads surrounded by forests.
In last night's dream I dreamt that I came close to getting hit by a blue car with my companions. We fell into one of the ditches and a skeleton with moss growing on it laid in the ditch sitting up. I was worried about my ankle as I fell. The head of the skull slowly began to look like the shape of the pineal gland. It grew wide and flat resembling an eye and slowly turned back into the face of the skeleton but the back of the head remained flat.
We got out of the ditch and walked along the road ready to jump again. We eventually walked past tiger farms hidden along the forests. "The Border" was located in both dreams next to a tiger farm.
So we eventually get there and climb up. There's a guy who owns the treehouse and he's very mysterious. He invites strangers to do illegal drugs, crash on his couch or watch movies. Apparently this is one of the few places you could do so. The dream has an apocalyptic vibe.
So people smoke and sit around doing nothing. Nobody has even spoken.
The treehouse is fairly huge like an actual house in the inside. The couch is huge and the flat screen TV looks small. I asked how they got the couch inside and the guy who owns the treehouse said "you don't wanna know."
A man has taken something amongst the strangers on the couch. He's hunched and twitching his arm. He has brown hair, a gray T-shirt and jeans. His arm keeps spasming and he eventually stands up. He says something about getting his bicycle.
I look to my companions and they shrug. We all look outside and the man looks taller. He's rolling around in the grass twitching. He's flopping like a fish tweaking. We're all at the window watching. So are the tigers behind a square pin that couldn't even keep chickens in.
The man pulls his pants off. His legs to his torso looks like a gray zebra (gray and black stripes. He's still flopping and he looks bigger. He has no shoes.
His shirt looks like it fused into his skin because now he looks like a tweaking zebra centaur. He rolls over to the pin of tigers and does a roll that throws him into the pin. The tigers pounce on him and maul him to death. The man is stoned faced. He makes no effort to scream.
Nobody is phased. They shrug it off and sit back down on the couch. I turned to my companion (Kelly maybe?) I say "we just watched a man get mauled to death by tigers."
She says "He was going to die eventually like we all do."
Very morbid and very vivid.
